Philanthropy
Theta Delta Chi gives back to the community through various philanthropy events. If your organization is coordinating a charity event, please contact our philanthropy chair Tom Butler .
- Theta Delta Chi Masquerade Ball - In November of 2005 Gamma Triton held the first Masquerade Ball to raise money for the Hole in the Wall Gang held in the Lansing Center. With more than 400 people in attendance and a corporate sponsorship from Red Bull Energy Drinks, a considerable amount of money was raised for charity.
- Theta Delta Chi Annual Tournament - Cash prizes for winners, but the main reason for the tournament was to raise money for the American Red Cross. This year the tournament will be expanded in order to raise even more money.
- Hole in the Wall Gang - The Hole in the Wall Gang is Theta Delta Chi's national charity, founded by our most famous alumnus, actor Paul Newman (Ohio '43). It has been our national philanthropy since 1995. The Hole in the Wall Camps were developed to provide children, ages 7 to 17, who battle chronic and life threatening illsesses with the opportunity to have a normal summer camp experience. Thousands of children attend every year, free of charge, for one week to forget about their illnesses and just be kids.
- American Red Cross - The Gamma Triton chapter raises money for the American Red Cross each semester. In the past the fraternity raised money in many ways including a loose change drive in the MSU dorms.
- MSU Food Bank - The Gamma Triton chapter recently began volunteering at the MSU Food Bank, assisting workers with distributing food to those in need.
- Greek Week - Greek Week is the annual fundraising event for all MSU sororities and fraternities. Through events such as field day and Battle of the Bands, teams compete for points and donate money to different charities. This year, Theta Delta Chi donated to Make-A-Wish, the American Red Cross, and Relay for Life.
